Welcome!

**This site contains photos of a cervix**

Thank you for finding me.

I have been having trouble with other web-hosting programs due to high traffic volume or due to ‘inappropriate images.’  Please bear with this temporary site and use the navigation bar to the right to view an overview of the project and the photos.

This project has touched my heart.  I have so appreciated all the positive feedback and personal stories people have shared on my original website.  Yay empowerment and healing and connection!  Thank you all.

Please check back in the spring of 2009 as I hope to have more women’s cervices posted.

Enjoy!

  1. Thank you for posting these pictures. What a great project. I wish that something like this had been available when I was a student. I will make sure to keep track of the site’s addy so I can put a permanent link.

  2. Wow, what a neat project. I’ve always wondered what’s going on down there (and I’ve had four babies!). These photos are not any more inappropriate than any other internal organ photos.

  3. I’m so glad I can leave a comment here! Thankyou SO much for these photos, they are simply amazing, and I think they have been very informative to many women. I have posted the link in many places, the reactions have been interesting, ranging from WOW!! to TMI!! which is quite funny. :)

Anything which helps us as women to know our bodies better is a wonderful thing. Thankyou again, and I’m sorry you have been plagued by ‘inappropriate content’ labels…just ridiculous.

  4. I really have to compliment you on your project. It is informative and has a healthy, down-to-earth approach on the functioning of female organs. Thanks a lot for posting this, I am so sharing this with other people. Also, I am pretty sure that pictures from a colonoscopy exam wouldn´t get any “inappropriate images” reviews although everything related to the process of excretion is even more taboo to some people than things related to reproduction/sexuality :)

  5. Great, great, great project…..CONGRATS!!!

I read a comment above by Ang that said that “anything thats helps understand women about their bodies is great” and I agree completly with her, but I’d like to say that this kind of project helps men as much as it does women. I personaly am very interested in everything that has to do with women because my number one priority is my wife and this kind of contribution helps us men understand what our partners go thru.

Again congratulations on an excelent project and hope to hear more from you in the future.

  6. So I have been getting a lot of grief for linking to this page of yours. I want to make a stand now and say I fully support it. This is freedom of expression. This is education for the public. This is not obscene or illegal.

  10. Hey,
This site is really great and I appreciate someone finally doing something like this. Is there anyway you could possibly start a section on discharge? I mean, I’ve looked and looked and can’t find any examples of what normal discharge looks like versus abonormal… ): and my gynecologist isn’t the best in the world either.
    Thanks

  12. If anyone viewing this site would like to see some more cervix photos and give an opinion, I have my own personal ones on my website. I wanted to contribute them here, but it seems this site isn’t currently being updated as my email has not received a reply….

But if you want to, check out mine here: MY PERSONAL CERVIX PICTURES
It’s part of my personal blog type site for keeping track of TTC.

  13. My girlfriends and i were looking at pics and we all had the same reaction to mucus. How would i go about removin the mucus before gravity takes hold and it ends up on panties do you have any ideas?

I think you just need to love the mucus in your panties as part of your body’s functions. Cervical caps (used for birth control) or Keeper/Diva cup (used to catch menstrual blood) will catch cervical fluid, too, but I would not recommend them for regular use.

  14. Thank you so much for posting these photos. As a resident physician I really appreciated the cycle photos and colposcopy photos and frankly make for a great tool to see much of the “normal” physiology to be expected when opening a speculum.

    Kudos!

  15. Congratulations on a wonderful educational site. Does anyone know what it means if your cervix is half firm and half soft. Just checked mine this morning and it’s high and the top half is firm and the bottom half is soft. I’m on day 7 of my cycle

  16. I came across your site through a Dutch pregnancy site and was curios as I feel my cervix during my cycles.
Recently I noticed I was getting better at feeling the diiference. Not just high open and soft to low hard and closed.
I have given birth once and never used a coil. Have used the birth control pill for many years (about 9?) I’m 28 and mum to a 2,5yr.
My opening is indeed slit-like after given birth.
I noticed after my ovulation that if my entrance stayed swollen and my cervix stayed between halfway and high, even though closed and medium/firm I was pregnant. I have had 5 miscarriages the past year, where one was a missed abortion and pills were used to induce.

It was nice to see what I feel! thank you and the volunteers for the information/pictures!

  19. I recently found this site and it gave me a lot of insight during a recent life shake up we can call it. Too many are shy or scared to talk about things like their cervix, too many are made to feel it’s dirty and wrong. We need more informative sites like this. Love your body ladies and love your cervix!
