Once you have a sustained temperature shift, you have already ovulated. The firmness of the cervix indicates that it is likely closed.

I am not sure how many DPO I am. I had a baby three months ago. Had a regular period that started Dec 18th. I started spotting jan 14th (two spots when i wiped a day) this has happened for five days. I checked my CP it was low firm and I THINK open (i dont know whats considered open but i hear after births it stays open?). This is day 5 of this minimal spotting and my cervix is higher and softer and what i think is still open. Is this a odd period. Does the cervix being what feels like open rule out pregnancy?

If you are not following the rules of the 7 standards of ecological breastfeeding – http://www.nfpandmore.org/The%20Seven%20Standards%20Summary.pdf – you’ll probably want to use a a barrier method as birth control after a baby. It is normal for the cervix to feel different/more soft after a vaginal birth and you may have to get used to this as your baseline. Also, it can take months for a fertile ovualtion/period cycle to resume postpartum
