I have had my Mirena for almost 4 years. I have a lot of cramping on regular basis. And now I can't find my strings. I have been experiencing nausea like no other which is always a tell-tell sign that I'm knocked up. I don't know what to do. I keep hearing of people getting pregnant on Mirena, and I'm scared!

IS IT POSSIBLE FOR RUFF-SEX TO CAUSE ANY COMPLICATIONS WITH AN IUD? I'm 25 years old, with no children, and have had my IUD in for one year. In 3 days my IUD will be taken out,and IT CAN'T HAPPEN SOON ENOUGH! About 95% of the time we have sex, my boyfriends penis will ends up hurting from him hitting the strings of the IUD. I’ve never experienced any discomfort myself until about 1 month ago, now I get extremely sharp pain from him hitting the IUD. I'm scared the IUD isn't correctly in place and that it might cause infertility. Any type of insight or help on the matter would be grealty appreceaite.

Have you tried taking the ibuprofen right when you started to get cramps, rather than waiting until the cramps get so bad? That might help.

Yep, it's normal with the copper IUD. Actually, ibuprofen will work better than percocet. Keep attention to your body and note when you think you're going to start getting cramps - then take ibuprofen as soon as possible, rather than waiting until the cramps get so bad (you don't want to have to play "catch up" with the pain.) In my personal experience, the cramps started to get much much better a few months after the IUD insertion.

actually, I have taken out my IUD and am just using a fertility monitor because i'm tired of hormones and fertility monitors are 99% accurate too, so all the benefits and no bad! you can look it up, its called lady comp fertility monitor and its around 400 dollars but I heard if you purchase it directly from the company you can make payments. the way it works is you take your temp right after you wake up and it will let you know if your ovulating by a light. green is no, yellow is maybe, and red is yes. so basically, no sex on yellow and red days or use barrier method. good luck!

I got my copper IUD on the 28th of December. I'm 23 and have never been pregnant. The cramps I get are still sometimes as bad as the day it was inserted. My doctor said it was normal because I've never been pregnant but I'm so scared somethings wrong. Its mainly at night when I get contraction like pain. Has anyone experienced this? I've used motrin and even percocet and it doesn't take them away.
