  2. I have been googling the heck outta “Pregnancy” PLUS “Cervix” etc, etc!! and I am THRILLED to see you have added it here!!! Although I know all women are different, I have also given birth to 3 children so I feel that this would be a similar reflection of what mine would be like with another pregnancy.

  9. #7 i found this for you:
During pregnancy, secretions will accumulate and form a mucus plug at the opening of your cervix. The mucus plug helps to prevent infection from occuring in your uterus and developing baby. The mucus plug will remain at the top of the cervix until just before labor begins.

  12. WHY DOSENT ANYBODY ASK THESE QUESTIONS AND DEMAND THIS INFORMATION FROM THE GYNECOLOGISTS?

MY MALE GYNO DENIED THAT I HAVE A G-SPOT AND DID NOT CARE ABOUT INFORMING ME ABOUT MY SEXUAL HEALTH, HE PRESCRIBED ME PROZAC AND FAILED TO INFORM ME OF ITS NEGATIVE SIDE-EFFECTS.
I WAS IMPEDED FROM ACHIEVING AN ORGASM FOR APPROX. 13 YEARS OF MY SEXUAL LIFE!

NOW I AM FIGHTING BACK, AND SOMEBODY NEEDS TO FORCE MANDATORY CONTINUING EDUCATION FOR GYNOS BECAUSE ALL WOMEN HAVE A G-SPOT AND IT IS THE GREATEST DISSERVICE AND MUST BE HELD MEDICALLY LIABLE FOR INFORMING THEIR FEMALE PATIENTS!

I have unprotected sex for 2 months now and have hot flashes for 2 months with interval of 2 weeks, late period last months of 8 days and late again this month of 4 days, still feel hot flashes. Last month I was very sensetive to smell. Trying to get pregnant, my basal temperature is 99.6 but under arm is 97.2. Is something wrong with me?

    [Reply]

    sookie Reply:

Lol, no silly! There’s nothing wrong with you! Even though I’m not TTC (I’m not sure if I can anyway), I take my BBT to keep track of my ovulation too. Plus, it’s intriguing to know. Anyway, I learned that different areas on your body = different temperatures. If you take it vaginally, I bet its temperature will be different from both your mouth and under arm. The trick is to pick a CERTAIN SPOT & STICK WITH IT! If you want accurate results, STAY CONSISTENT! :-)

Oh, & if you already know by now, then that’s good, but someone else might NOT know. & GOOD LUCK TTC!

    [Reply]

    sookie Reply:

& you sound like you had a fever or something, but I could be wrong because I, also, read somewhere that hot flashes, sensitivity to smell, etc is some of the early signs of pregnancy. Were you pregnant? I hope so!

  24. Vika,
I notice that your post is dated, and you may have figured this out by now that your temp under your arm always registers about 2 degrees lower than oral temp. Just as a rectal temp registers about 2 degrees higher than oral. So if you take your temp under your arm again just add 2 degrees and that is your temp.

    These pics are amazing!

It is probably normal. I have them too. Specially around my period. If your gyno has never mentioned them to you, then they are nothing. I had them for years before I got up the courage to ask my doc.. she then looked at me like she didn’t even believe I knew where my cervix was, then asked me how I knew I had the bumps! It was described to me as little cysts, or pimple like bumps.

My guess is a foreign object such as a camera could introduce infection to a dilating cervix, especially after the waters have broken and probably wouldn’t be feasible however it would be fascinating to see a dilating cervix at each cm stage. This site is fascinating, especially having a small baby and remembering all the technical side of TTC, it suddenly makes so much more sense.

  51. [...] I am glad you girls found that link helpful. The microscope test kit that I showed you girls would be a good investment for me even though it is kind of pricey. My health insurance doesnt cover DH's SA, and the one that we did have cost us $140.00 U.S. out of pocket!!! So it wouldbe worth it spend 79 bucks on the microscope once for the savings of having to do repeat SA's. If i dont get pregnant soon than I think I am going to have DH try a low dose of clomid which is supposed to help improve sperm count and motility and I can check to be sure it is working if I use the microscope to see if his numbers are improving. If I end up buying it than I will be sure to let you girls know what I thought of it. I also have a speculum because it came with the artificial insemination kit, it also came with a needle syringe and long thin plastic needle. A few times right before I Ov'ed this cycle because it helps get the nice and close to the cervix. Hubby had to help with it and got right in there with a flash light, and he said he could see the cervix. Sorry if this is TMI, but after hubby inserted his into me I elevated my hips, put my legs in the air and masturbated to help get the little guys up into the cervix, I have read the contractions help suck the little guys up in there. He has been very supportive with TTC this cycle and I really appreciate his efforts. I wanted to have hubby look at my cervix towards the end of my cycle to help determine if I was pregnant or not, because when you are pregnant the little hole closes up. I asked him about it and he didnt seem so thrilled about doing that, but I know with a little gentle nagging he would do it for me…LOL…. Here is a link to how a pregnant women's cervix looks when she is pregnant, it is very interesting stuff. There are also pictures on here of the cervix in other phases throughout a womens cycle. Thanks so much for inspiring me. I’m 47 and ttc for the first time. I’ve just taken my first photo using instructions from this site (and without help!) The quality of the image is good enough to reassure me that at 8 days past ovulation my cervix looks totally normal, with a bit of creamy discharge. I’m intending to keep taking photos for my own records (have belatedly and just before it’s game over become totally excited about fertility)and if I become pregnant am considering offering images to this site to give older women ttc inspiriation and courage.
