Thanks

A most sincere thanks to my supportive mother, friends, and teachers who have encouraged me on my lifetime journey of self-discovery and -love.  Thank you for the cycles of inspiration!

And to my most fabulous boyfriend, whose curiosity, willingness, dedication, tech-support, and love are a constant blessing.  I so appreciate you.

And last, but certainly not least, to my perfect ‘Cervie’ who has agreed to be such a fabulous model and have fans around the world.  I cherish you.  Forever.

  7. Have you considered the licence for these images? If you decided to release them under a Creative Commons or other licence allowing redistribution they might be useful in various contexts.

  8. Thank you!

I found this link from a website I use to chart my BBT. We are TTC our first child, and while descriptions are OK pictures are worth 1000 words.

Thank you for caring enough to share these personal images to help us all understand the changes going on ‘down there’ thru our cycles.

I know you will have a great future in your profession. There are so many jerks in the medical profession and anyone who cares enough to do this…will show some empathy with her patients too!

  10. Why an ISP would have problems with your site but then allow commercial pornography to run unhindered is deeply peverse.

Thank you for your openness, good will and this education.

  16. I caught you over at google pages and quickly fell in love with the idea and photographs. It’s a wonderful and greatly appreciated effort on your part.

Despite it being a shame that you were forced to remove your pictures from google, this site looks even better–the photographs are incredible and informative.

Congratulations on the new venue and surge of interest and good luck with the new project.

  17. I thought it was very interesting, I like to know how my body works on the inside as well as, the outside. I must say that I am very curious of what a “Thinned-Out” cervix looks like in a woman about to give birth. During labor, you hear the doctors/nurses telling you how thinned out your cervix is, and after now seeing what at actual cervix looks like, I am curious to see what part of it gets thinned out! You know when you are “fully dialated to 10cm” supposedly when the birth is suppose to begin, right before they tell you to start pushing, that is when you are told that your cervix is ‘COMPLETELY THINNED OUT”, I would just love to see what that looks like. I guess for that to happen, your participant would have to be at least 9 mos pregnant! I’ll check back some day soon, you never know!

    Thanks

  18. Thank you for creating this educational website, and for being willing to be vulnerable enough to show to the world this beautiful part of your body. Although I have had the privilege to see women’s cervices, I have never before had the opportunity to see a woman’s cervix on each day of her cycle. This is an incredible gift. Thank you.

  19. Not one person found these repulsively disgusting? Cmon these comments must be censored.

    Comment by Anum — January 14, 2009 @ 3:47 am

  20. Yes, I do censor these comments. Recently this site has been linked to a few porn sites and the comments I have received are degrading to me, the project, and to women in general. I do not feel that showing these comments to women and other humans is a useful thing to do as they perpetuate sexism, fear, and hate. I am not trying to limit people’s reactions to these photos – and arousal, disgust, being turned gay, and wanting to vomit, etc are common responses I receive – but this site clearly states its purpose and content, so I feel people have been warned and they don’t need to look if they don’t feel they are mature enough to do so.

  21. Well done. It was a fascinating journey and I really wish to congratulate you the courage and patience to complete this project.

I´m also glad you censor the comments, the world and the internet is full of creeps and idiots, and the more limited their presence, the better.

Again, many thanks for the pictures and all the best for the future!

  24. I am currently not trying to get pregnant, but would gladly accept any cervical photos of women who are pregnant. Sometimes the cervix turns blue :)

  25. Thank you for creating such an informative series of photos. There is endless information out there about softening and lowering and opening etc. but until now I had no idea what a cervix actually looked like (apart from those cross-section diagrams of women’s’ reproductive systems found everywhere), which is shocking really.

I applaud you and really hope you manage to get an educational publication out there. I would offer my cervix’s services but you may not need it as I too am 25, have never given birth, am not trying to conceive and have a 32 (ish) day cycle. If you do, feel free to contact me.

  26. I lost part of my cervix due to cervical dysplagia. I was fascinated seeing my cervix during my colposcopy exams. Part of my cervix removed, and afterward I asked the doctor to see what part of me had been removed. She seemed surprised by that request. It looked like a grape (although pink in colour)…cut in half and hollowed out. Luckily, because I had a yearly pap exam, my dysplagia was detected at CNII. My hope that every female is able to have access to a yearly pap exam. Doctors are not easily accessible in northern communities or in first nations communities. When health = profit we have a problem.

  29. I not only want to thank you but also your husband. Thank you both for your time, patience, courage, and empathy for others. Not only is this site helpful for people in the health care field but also the general public as well.

Congratulations on a good project and please keep up the good work.

  30. Hi, I wondered if you would consider doing a series on Cervical Cancer stages? I have had CIN II previously (aged 25) which was treated. Am I being naive in thinking that you can see these stages (CIN I, II & III) on your cervix before aggressive cancer starts?
I would be interested to see any changes to ‘normal’ cervix appearance and I am sure other would especially after Jade Goody’s tragic death in the UK.
    Thanks for breaking boundaries!

  31. I am 35 years old and TTC my first child. I found this website through my travels on the internet. I have learned more about my body in the last 6 months through research and books… BBT charting, OPK’s, CM, CP… WOW. This website kind of brought it all together for me. THANK YOU! Your pictures really helped me understand what I was looking for and are just amazing. I cannot believe how much we, as women, are not taught about our bodies on a regular basis. Thank you for helping us understand!

  32. Thank you! Learning what a healthy cervix looks like has actually eased a lot of my concerns about what was going on with my own! :) I’m telling all my female friends about this.
