Age 25 – 6 weeks Postpartum
This photo was taken at this woman’s six week postpartum visit with her midwife. She bled (called lochia) for three weeks postpartum as her uterus involuted, or regained its pre-pregnancy shape. She is now at six weeks, she is having what she considers a normal period. Note the fresh red blood coming from the os.
With both previous babies, her cycle came back at eight weeks, so a relatively early return to cycling was expected and normal for her.
