Age 30 – Day 16
This is the cervix of a 30 year old woman. 18 months ago, she had an emergency C-section birth after being fully dilated and pushing for 2 hours. A few months later, when her general practitioner saw her cervix during a routine pap smear, they suspected there was a growth pushing the cervix open, but further testing revealed it is just the way her cervix now is. She has been advised that it needs no treatment and will cause no problems for future pregnancies.
Her cycles are usually 25-27 days long and this photo was taken on day 16. She does not use birth control and has always had normal pap smear results.
